We are seeking a dedicated and talented Chef to join our team in a prestigious residential setting, providing exceptional meals to a community of 55+ teenage boys. This is a unique opportunity for a culinary professional who values consistency, creativity, and purpose in their work. You’ll play a central role in supporting the wellbeing and nutrition of our students by delivering delicious, nutritionally balanced meals in a structured yet dynamic environment.
The Chef is responsible for the planning, preparation, and presentation of high-quality meals in a private residence setting. This includes breakfast, lunch, supper and providing hospitality for visitors, parents, and VIP guests. You will work closely with the House and Central Catering team to ensure high standards of food quality, safety, and dietary compliance.
You will be based in a historic and well-supported private residence, equipped with a modern kitchen and backed by a dedicated Central Catering team. The working week follows a structured school term calendar, with the advantage of having school holidays off. The role provides stability, personal satisfaction, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on young lives through food.

Teacher of English
We are looking for an inspiring English teacher to teach throughout the school. We are a large Department of highly qualified teachers who foster academic excellence through a shared a love of reading. We wish for the boys in our care to gain the beginnings of an appreciation of literature, something that we hope will accompany them through their adult lives.
Our teaching combines traditional methods with the thoughtful use of digital technologies. Every year group benefits from access to early editions and manuscripts in the College Archive and our School Library is exceptionally well resourced. Beyond the classroom, the Department provides a vibrant super-curricular that includes long-established societies (our Literary Society is over 150 years old!), visiting lecturers, reading and writing groups, and theatre trips. We also contribute significantly to the school’s partnership programmes, maintaining close links with local and London schools.
All boys study English in their first three years. In Years 10 and 11, they follow the CAIE IGCSE in Literature and Language. Our English Literature A-Level is with OCR where we teach early modern poetry and drama, the American novel 1880-1940, with room given to our teachers to choose their own coursework texts. Results are excellent and teaching here is a joy. Our ‘English at University’ programme runs over two terms, is thorough and wide-ranging, with many boys in securing places at leading UK and international universities. The depth of experience and expertise within our department means that we are equally as comfortable in developing and supporting recent graduates or new entrants to the profession as we are in welcoming more experienced teachers to the team.

Catering Assistant (Maternity Cover) - 40 hours per week
As a Catering Assistant you will work within our Central Catering team, supporting the activities of our boarding houses. In particular you will help to provide a full dining service during house meals, assist with Chambers and Messing (breaktime) teas, support the chef team with food preparation and food presentation, and undertake the required cleaning in the kitchen and dining areas of the house. You will also work during a variety of house functions throughout the year providing kitchen support and waiting services as necessary.
