We do not accept speculative CVs or cover letters. If you would like to apply for a role, please do so via our online application portal. If there are currently no suitable vacancies, you can register your interest here to receive notifications about future vacancies at the College.

For most of our job roles, the application process will include completion of personal details, supporting statement and provision of your CV, detailing your employment and education history. Please note for pupil facing roles, you are also required to provide reference details.

As part of the process, we will review your application form to match the skills and competencies you have written about against the requirements of the job role you’ve applied for. These will be listed in the job description attached to the advert for the role on our website.  For some roles, you will also be asked to complete online tests or questionnaires which will help us understand your suitability further.

Yes, you can apply for any role where you have the required skills/experience.

As soon as you have applied for a position you will receive an email confirmation. Thereafter, we aim to come back to all applicants within three weeks after the closing date for the job role. We understand that waiting is the hardest part but making sure we get the right person for the job is important to us. Please do keep an eye on your junk email in case our response has gone there.

If you are travelling by car, there is visitor parking available and information about this will be sent to you by the recruitment team when arranging your interview.

If you are travelling by public transport, there are a number of ways to get to Eton. The two closest railway stations are Windsor & Eton Riverside and Windsor & Eton Central. It takes between 10 and 20 minutes to walk from them to Eton (across the bridge and up the High Street).

Slough railway station is a little further away. From there you’ll need to take a taxi or a bus (Route 15) to get to Eton, so please plan your journey in advance.

All applicants who are invited to a face-to-face interview at the College will be required to bring with them evidence of their identity, right to work in the UK, address, and qualifications. Details of this will be given when you are invited to interview.

If you are a UK or Irish Citizen, you can bring your passport with you to prove your right to work in the UK.

If you have a UK Visas and Immigration account or a biometric residence permit or card, you can use the online right to work checking service which can be found at www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-work.

We will provide further details if you are invited to interview, but if you have any questions in the meantime then please contact the Recruitment Team.

All interviewed candidates will be notified of the outcome of the selection process as soon as possible. At every interview, the interviewer should provide you with an approximate idea on next steps and timeframes. If you have not heard from us within three weeks, we encourage you to get in touch by emailing us at recruitment@etoncollege.org.uk

If you have attended an interview at the College, feedback will usually be offered to you when you are notified of the outcome of your application. Due to the volume of applications we receive for many of our roles, we are unable to provide feedback if you have not been invited for interview. We endeavour to contact all unsuccessful applicants by phone or email.

We do not currently offer tours for prospective candidates. However, heritage tours are run by the College and more information about these can be viewed here.

If a role is ‘term time’ this will usually be working 32 weeks per year, with paid holiday designated to be taken during school holidays. However, your salary will be split evenly and paid monthly across the 12 months of the year. Some of our roles are advertised as ‘term time plus’, where the role requires you to work more than 32 weeks but less than 52. Please refer to the job description where you will find detailed information about the working weeks required for the job role you are applying for.

As we are a school, most of our roles require onsite working. Where hybrid working is possible, this will usually be referred to in the job description for the role. If you have any queries, please contact the Recruitment Team at recruitment@etoncollege.org.uk

This is dependent on the role which you apply for. For roles that are eligible to be sponsored, in line with the UK Home Office guidance, Eton College is on the UKVI register of sponsors and visa sponsorship may be available for the preferred candidate if they do not currently have the right to work in the UK and are unable to gain this independently.

For both virtual and face-to-face interviews, we would suggest that you wear smart business attire unless informed otherwise by the Recruitment Team.

We ask all shortlisted applicants whether there are any reasonable adjustments needed for them during the interview and selection process. The types of reasonable adjustments will depend on your individual need, and we will be happy to discuss your requirements further with you.

The College complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation and processes all personal data in accordance with its Privacy Notice. The Privacy Notice is available to view on our website and can also be printed and sent to candidates on request.

As part of the online application form, you will be asked to complete a short diversity questionnaire with the intention of having a separate, confidential record of your name and any information about protected characteristics within the Equality Act 2010, that will be used to help us understand the makeup of our applicants. This is important to us, because understanding the diversity of our applicants and workforce is essential if we are going to ensure that Eton College becomes an ever more inclusive, welcoming and supportive place to work.

The answers to these questions are confidential and will not be seen by any person involved in the selection process for the post for which you are applying. Your answers will only be used for research purposes, to enhance our attraction and recruitment campaigns, and continue to improve the diversity of Eton College as we try to attract candidates who are currently under-represented, especially in our teaching community. By sharing your data, you will be helping us improve the way we do things and help us monitor our journey and measure our progress.
